BELONG 2010 So last week we ran the third annual ‘Belong’ week away for young people in school years 7-13 and it blew us away……… Overall 66 people went to the Pioneer Centre near Cleobury Mortimer (Kidderminster) which means we have grown this venture each year. We were in a posh new build part of the centre with a fantastic big hall where JP set up a fantastic stage, lights and sound rig - it really was a pro job! Anyway, the week went fantastically well, the young people got involved with art, craft, Drama, film-making, ultimate-frisbee, Abseiling, Indoor caving, high ropes, archery, bridge building, wide games, night walks, a quiz and loads more. Another big event was that we hosted a gig for an evening - Tom + Olly came to play on Tuesday night and they made us dance solid for an hour or so. They were full of energy and were obviously passionate about their job because they socialised with the young people afterwards - if you are ever in need of a band for a gig - HIRE them - well worth it - and download their debut record on iTunes! We didn’t get much sleep and it was hard at times - but overall we nailed what we wanted to achieve: To have fun, to worship God and to develop our relationships with each other and with God. We’re already booked in for next year…… spread the news…… We want to fill that lodge!!!
